2024 Feast President Tony Abreu

Welcome to the 108th Feast of the Blessed Sacrament. I am excited and honored to have been elected president of such an amazing feast.

I don't have many memories of my childhood that don't include the feast and the club. The feast grounds were a place where most of my weekends and summers were spent. My Godfather, Antonio Fernandes "Little Tony," made it his mission to instill in us pride for our community and heritage.

My Tias and grandmother also play a major role in my learning about Madeiran culture and traditions. I've been lucky to travel to the island of Madeira numerous times, the first time in 1989 with a group of members from the club. That trip started a love affair with the island's traditions, culture, and celebrations.

I have traveled to many parts of Portugal and attended many feasts. These visits have filled me with pride and ideas that I'd like to bring to our feast here in America. Our goal this year as a committee is to immerse our feast-goers in as much Portuguese culture as possible.

We are committed to bringing in lots of great Portuguese food and wine, traditional feast decorations, and, most importantly, tons of Portuguese entertainment.

I'd like to thank my committee members, especially my officers, Paul Leconte, Aaron Taylor, Justin Gallagher, and Cameron Piche, for supporting me throughout the years and especially for intrusting me with the role of president.

I'd like to thank all the members of the Club Madeirense SS Sacramento, the board of directors, and especially President Tim Rodrigues for accepting me as this year's president and supporting me and my committee as we plan this year's feast.

I'd like to thank all my family and friends who have supported me throughout this journey. Without your support and love, I'd never be able to accomplish such a huge task.

In closing, I'd like to thank all our volunteers who have worked tirelessly in our barracas; without the help of these women and men, our feast would not be possible.

Boas Festas,

Tony Jose Abreu

2024 President of the Feast of the Blessed Sacramento

Bem-vindos à 108ª Festa do Santíssimo Sacramento.

Boas Festas,

Tony José Abreu
